Engitec Research Center (ERC) – The Scientific Approach
Since the very beginning of Engitec history, research and innovative solutions have represented the background and the foundation of the Company leadership in International Markets.
For this reason, one of the most important assets of the Company is its Research Center known as ERC standing for Engitec Research Center. At the present time, ERC center occupies senior chemists, process engineers and laboratory technicians. All together represents approximately 8% of the overall workforce. The basic philosophy of ERC is to combine university and industrial research by sharing our excellent skills and engaging our best researchers to achieve objectives of common interest.
Any new idea and any new technical solution are developed in lab or pilot scale and tested in ERC before being launched on the Market. Furthermore, ERC thanks to its modern and well-equipped laboratory, is capable of providing assistance and tailor-made solutions to the Clients who are unlikely facing issues with any process and/or chemical aspects relevant to pyro or hydro metallurgical process for the recovery of nonferrous waste.
During the years some 30 international patents have been filed by Engitec giving a remarkable contribution to the nonferrous recycling industry.

- EZINEX Pilot Plant – for the recovery, in lab scale, ox Zn from the waste fumes of EAF
- SPL Pilot Plant – for the treatment and recovery of the waste material coming from the demolition of exhaust cells of the primary aluminium smelters
